According to this recent news in TOI, earlier this month, accused Rekha Rajak, 33, lodged a complaint with Mahila police station that she was raped by Ram Nivas Sharma, 69, head of Brahma Kumaris' ashram, resident of Thatipur area in Gwalior. It is said sometimes that love does not see any boundaries of age; we can’t say if that is true but it is quite clear that accusing 69 year old man of rape by 33 year old woman is perfectly legit because false rape accusation does not see boundaries of age! Further excerpt from the news below: She told police that she was exploited for long and then raped by the accused during her three-month stay at the ashram. The extortion angle came up in the case when Sharma, who has been accused by the women of committing rape, lodged a counter … [Read more...] about False rape accuser and lawyer accomplice get caught in own net

IPC 498a: compromise or die
This incident happened earlier this month, and the surreal quality of the experience made me write this post. I am standing in one of the ACMM courts in Bangalore, for my 498a case number to be called. I don’t expect anything to happen, just the usual drill: accused’s (myself) name will get called, the bench clerk will note that I am present, the judge will probably only barely look up, note down a new date on the file, and bench clerk will announce the next date for me to show up in court, which could be anywhere from 2-3 months from today. But that’s not an incident with anything new or noteworthy. What I want to write is about a case which was called immediately before my case. This incidentally is also a 498a case. How do I know that it’s a 498a case? Read … [Read more...] about IPC 498a: compromise or die

On Useless husbands and harmless fun by Asian Paints
Asian paints has released a new TV advertisement recently depicting husbands as useless. The advertisement is causing some anger in the manosphere so I decided to take a look myself and found it is not just one, but a series of 4 advertisements. Husbands are Useless: Car The advt above which is shot in a moving car shows a brick wall in the car to depict the useless husband to whom our fine lady is talking to but who seems to answer in monosyllables! The next we hear an announcement aimed at this fine, responsible wife that husbands are useless and she should log on to Asian Paints website, and select her shades, mixes, whatever. In a similar vein, the other 3 advertisements show a dialogue between wife and husband where they show the husband towards the end of the … [Read more...] about On Useless husbands and harmless fun by Asian Paints
Valentine’s day — should men boycott or celebrate it?
In video below, Marc Rudov makes some very good points: Men spend double of what women spend on Valentine’s day. It is kind of Benevolent Sexism (short form BS – also bullshit), and a double standard where women want equality everywhere else when it suits them, e.g. in workplace (only high paying jobs actually), but appeal to men’s sense of being a protector/provider and chivalry on Valentine’s day. The woman says it is about a day of romance, to which Marc responds “If you are not getting romance other days of the year”… Yeah, that sure sounds phony and contrived to invent one day of the year about romance. And the undertone of expectations are very clear – a man gifts and provides, and that’s what gets the wheels of romance moving. So if the wheels of romance stop moving at … [Read more...] about Valentine’s day — should men boycott or celebrate it?
